Establishing Baby's Routine and Gentle Sleep Training
Parents and Doulas working together can help babies gently and gradually move into a daily schedule that supports their optimal development and helps them form a daily routine and early sleep habits. This gives parents more sleep, ease, and predictability. Full-term healthy babies can sleep through the night, 8 hrs, by three months of age without stressing the baby. When you book three months of service gentle and gradual sleep training is included.
Daytime Help for Mothers…
Your Postpartum Doula will provide complete nursery care and if desired, organizing of closets and drawers in the nursery. This includes baby's laundry, and all care of your baby's clothing, bedding, gifts, pumps and bottles, changing tables, and play areas.
Lite Housekeeping and Occasional Cooking… Your doula will make healthy snacks for you, help you remember to hydrate, tidy up your living area and kitchen, offer online grocery or other purchasing, receive deliveries, manage gifts and baby equipment storage, and if you wish, may provide occasional cooking.
Bonding Information and Demonstrations… Your Doula will explain and demonstrate activities to enhance bonding with your baby, for moms and dads. This includes daily skin-to-skin and visual contact, engaging your baby with early communication, baby massage, and gentle handling.
Swaddling, Comforting, and Helping Baby to Sleep…
Your Doula will show you swaddling techniques, help you practice, and show you how to help your baby transition from awake time to bedtime and ease into sleep. These skills are essential to support your baby's gentle sleep training.
Bathing and Infant Massage… In the beginning, your newborn will need a daily sponge bath. This can be a lovely time to interact and build trust with your baby. Your Doula will demonstrate the sponge bath and help you get used to this routine as needed. Soon a full bath will be given and demonstrated, followed by a baby massage which enhances bonding and trust with your baby.
Developmental play techniques and equipment… A variety of activities with your baby can greatly foster early development through play. Doulas engage and demonstrate developmental play that supports your baby's early curiosity, learning, and coordination.

This might include walks, restaurant meals, Dr. appointments, or visits with friends and family. This may include travel in the US or abroad.
